Citrix presents its new virtual machine for Mac

Publicado: Sunday, December 20, 2009

Citrix In the last week has launched a free application called Citrix App Receiver Store, a customer that allows us to run Windows applications on the iPhone through a Citrix network providing a more efficient transmission method that VNC.

But what is really interesting is that the demos are done on a new virtualized solution, called XenClient for Mac, which promises to increase performance. The main improvement is that virtualization is a type one, which basically means it runs directly on the hardware of the computer.

The most common virtual machines now available for Mac OS X are type two, which means that run within the system. By virtualizing Windows with VM Ware, this is actually two “layers” above the hardware, Mac OS X being the one that really communicates with the hardware.
A virtualization means that a type be running on the hardware directly, the system is more fluid and is less committed to the security of the information on your Mac
